Tasha

Founder

Growing up as a military child, Tasha's dance experience spans over forty years throughout the United States varying from traditional ballet instruction to competition teams from California to Virginia. Tasha holds a doctorate of education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Florida, has been trained in ABT PrePrimary through Level 3 Ballet in New York and is certified in Acrobatic Arts. Tasha has a passion for dance that she loves to share with children of all ages.

Chloë

Studio Director

Chloë has trained throughout north Florida since the age of 2. She attended multiple intensives from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts to the Rockettes' Summer Intensive in New York. Chloë has a bachelor degree in Entertainment Management from Rosen College and is certified in ABT PrePrimary through Level 3 Ballet, Acrobatic Arts and Pilates Mat. She strives to be an excellent role model and mentor for all our dancers.

Rose

Instructor

Rose has been dancing since she was 4. She has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, and musical theater in New York, Colorado, Florida, and the Netherlands. She has learned from the Joffrey Ballet, ABT, and the Rockettes while also leading her own dance troupe in the Netherlands and choreographing musicals and dances in Florida. Rose believes dance is one of the most important forms of art and aims to share her love of dance with students of all ages and abilities.

Liz

Liz found her passion for dance at 11, training in ballet, acro, ballroom, and more. A Flagler County native, she trained with NEFDA, Ormond Ballet, and Flagler Dance. She holds an Early Childhood Education degree from Daytona State College, where she also assisted the Dance Theater director. Liz loves inspiring children to discover their own joy in dance.

James

Instructor

James made his professional ballet debut in 2013 with Winston-Salem Festival Ballet. Trained at Ballet Chicago under Dan Duell and Patricia Blair, he performed with companies in New York, Baltimore, and DC - specializing in Balanchine works. James blends neo-classical elements into his instruction to prepare dancers for auditions and summer intensives. He enjoys sharing the benefits of Balanchine with ballet dancers of all ages.

Abbey is trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, and lyrical. She graduated from Flagler College with her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Abbey is a Saint Augustine Dance Academy Performance Company alumni and has received numerous awards at dance competitions and conventions throughout the United States. Abbey loves to teach all ages of dancers and hopes to instill a love of dance in all of her students.

Hannah began dancing at age 5 and trained at the Arizona School of Classical Ballet. She attended summer intensives on scholarship at Long Beach Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet in New York, Grand Rapids Ballet, and Texas Ballet Theater. As a Long Beach Ballet Ambassador, she toured and performed across China. At 17, she began her professional career with the Grand Rapids Ballet and later danced for the City Ballet of San Diego. Seven years ago, she started teaching at leading dance schools in San Diego and Jacksonville. Certified in Progressing Ballet Technique, she loves sharing her passion for ballet with her students.

Mary Rose

​Mary Rose began studying dance in Marietta, GA when she was three. She danced pre-professionally with the GA Metro Dance Theatre for nine years before attending Brenau University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Dance. Mary Rose has extensive training in classical ballet and pointe, modern, jazz, and contemporary. She performed professionally with several dance companies in the Atlanta area while also teaching, choreographing, and directing. Mary Rose is excited to be joining the dance community in St. Augustine and is looking forward to being a part of the SADA team!

Danielle started dancing at the age of 2 in South Florida where she trained in various dance styles including tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary and hip hop. She graduated from Florida State University with her Masters in Sport Management. During her time at FSU, Danielle had the pleasure of taking many dance courses for non-majors through FSU’s School of Dance. She was also an instructor in FSU’s Lifetime Activities Program where she taught undergraduate level Jazz Dance, as well as Stretch & Relaxation courses. Danielle is excited to share her love for dance with students of all ages, including our Adult students!

Instructor

Susan ran a successful studio in New York's Hudson Valley area for 30 years. At national dance and talent competitions, she received recognition for her choreography and "Teacher of the Year". Susan completed Dance Educators of America's certification program and is a lifetime member. She teaches dance and fitness lessons in her neighborhood and loves sharing her passion for dance with students of all ages and abilities.

Melissa has had a love for dance from very early on in her life. She began her dance training at age 2 in the northeast. Throughout her training she had the opportunity to take intensives from the Radio City Rockettes and to perform at Lincoln Center. While attending college, she became a performer with the Walt Disney World Company. Melissa loves performing and teaching that love to dancers of all ages. Her favorite part of teaching is watching the dancers blossom and grow.

Kaylee studied dance at Palm Beach Atlantic University and has been trained in ballet, acro, and contemporary. She currently works with children with developmental disabilities and is beginning her master’s degree in applied behavior analysis. Kaylee is passionate about creating a positive, supportive space where every dancer can thrive.

Leia has trained at St. Augustine Dance Academy since the day it opened in 2012. She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, acro and hip hop. Leia has been a member of our performance company since 2013 and attends conventions and competitions as an award winning soloist. She has been assisting in the classroom for the past eight years, has substituted every style from beginner through advanced and loves sharing her versatility in dance with all her students!​​​​​

Ashley grew up in California and began dancing at the age of 3. Ashley is a SADA performance company alumni, and has trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Acro, and Modern. She is an alumni of FSCJ Danceworks Company as well as the Dancelook Apprentice Program. Ashley is also Acrobatic Arts Certified. She is very passionate about dance and loves to share that with her students!

Mikayla, from Saint Augustine, FL, has danced for 20 years, training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, and pointe. She trained at Switzerland Dance School, performing with their company for eight years, and earned a B.A. in Dance from Samford University. With five years of teaching experience, she loves helping students grow in both technique and passion for dance.

She recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Dance, and is beginning her professional performance career with Emily Cargill & Dancers in Jacksonville, Florida. Joy is so excited to be part of the SADA family and can’t wait to share her love of dance with her students!

Student Teacher

Sydney began dancing at St. Augustine Dance Academy at age 5, training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. She joined our performance company in 2017 and has attended competitions and intensives across the East Coast. Sydney has assisted classes for over five years. After recently completing our Teacher Apprentice Program (TAP), she is beyond excited to begin her first year teaching and to share her love of dance with her students.
